International Journal of Palliative Nursing, in collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Support, was proud to host the IJPN awards 2012.

This was the eighth consecutive year that Macmillan gave its support to these prestigious awards, which took place in London on 29 March. The awards also could not have taken place without sponsorship from Napp Pharmaceuticals and CME Medical.

The aim of the awards is simply to recognise excellence in palliative care. There is an enormous amount to celebrate, with outstanding work being carried out in all parts of the world, and the submissions we  receive are a wonderful demonstration of quality, dedication and innovation in service to patients. The IJPN awards are a great opportunity to acknowledge this work, and to share good practice with each other.

The awards categories reflect the range of activities and individuals involved in delivering high quality care to patients. We look forward to hosting them again in 2013.
