IJPN Awards 2014

The International Journal of Palliative Nursing Awards 2014, in collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Support, took place in London on 20 March. The awards celebrate achievement and excellence in the work of nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team in palliative care.

The event took place at the grand Honourable Artillery Company Museum in the centre of London. After a champagne reception and an opportunity for those in attendance to meet and chat over dinner, proceedings began in earnest with a rousing and inspired speech from the evening’s guest speaker, Simon Chapman,  Director of Public & Parliamentary Engagement for The National Council for Palliative Care & The Dying Matters Coalition.

The ceremony itself was superbly hosted by Stephen Richards, Director of Professional Engagement at Macmillan Cancer Support. The judging panel were as ever extremely impressed by the standard of the entries, as attested to on the night by IJPN’s Consultant Editor, Professor Bridget Johnston, and the nominees whose amazing work was being honoured again included people from far and wide, reflecting the continuing growth of palliative care across the world.

The results of the awards can be viewed in full here, and photos of the evening are available here.

If you didn't make a nomination this year, please consider coming back later in the year and making one for 2015. We all know someone whose inspiring work deserves to be acknowledged!

Many thanks again to our sponsors, Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as to our judges and all of those who made a nomination. And congratulations to all of this year’s deserving winners!
